WordPress in Plesk

Step 1: Log in to Plesk

Visit your Plesk control panel:

https://yourdomain.com:8443

Log in with your hosting username and password.

Step 2: Open WordPress Toolkit

  1. In the left sidebar, click WordPress

  2. You’ll now see the WordPress Toolkit Dashboard

From here, you can:

  • Install a new WordPress site

  • Manage existing sites

  • Update WordPress core, plugins, or themes

  • Change admin password

  • Enable security features

Step 3: Install WordPress (If You Haven’t Yet)

  1. Click Install WordPress

  2. Choose your domain from the dropdown (e.g. yourdomain.com)

  3. Fill in:

    • Site title (you can change it later)

    • Admin username & password

    • Email address

  4. Choose:

    • Language

    • Database settings (you can leave this as default)

  5. Click Install

Wait a minute or two — your site will be installed with the latest WordPress version.


Step 4: Access Your WordPress Dashboard

Once installed:

  • Click "Log in" in the WordPress Toolkit

  • You’ll go directly to your WordPress admin panel (yourdomain.com/wp-admin) — no password needed!


Step 5: Update WordPress Core, Plugins, and Themes

Keeping WordPress up to date is important for security and performance.

  1. Go to WordPress > Your Site > Updates

  2. You’ll see three tabs:

    • Core

    • Plugins

    • Themes

  3. Click Update All, or update them individually

You can enable Auto-Updates for:

  • Core

  • Plugins

  • Themes

Step 6: Install or Remove Plugins and Themes

To add a plugin or theme:

  1. Click your site name in the Toolkit

  2. Click Plugins or Themes

  3. Search for the plugin/theme name (e.g. “Yoast SEO”)

  4. Click Install

  5. Optional: Check “Activate after install”

To remove:

  • Click the trash bin icon next to any installed plugin or theme.

Step 7: Manage Other WordPress Settings

Inside the WordPress Toolkit, you can also:
