Here’s a step-by-step guide to installing a free SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt in Plesk. This makes your website secure (adds the padlock in the browser), and it’s free forever with auto-renewal. No technical skills needed!
Open your browser and go to your Plesk login page (e.g. https://yourdomain.com:8443
).
Enter your Username and Password.
Click Log in.
In the left menu, click Websites & Domains.
Find the domain name you want to secure with SSL.
Look for the Let’s Encrypt button directly under that domain.
If you don’t see it immediately, continue with Step 3 below.
Click the Let’s Encrypt button.
If it's not on the main screen, click SSL/TLS Certificates, then select Let’s Encrypt from there.
This opens the Let’s Encrypt setup screen.
Enter your email address (for renewal notifications).
Check the following options:
Secure the domain (yourdomain.com
)
Secure the "www" subdomain (www.yourdomain.com
)
Secure webmail (webmail.yourdomain.com
) – optional
Click the Get it Free button (or Install, depending on your Plesk version).
Plesk will now:
Contact Let’s Encrypt.
Create your SSL certificate.
Install it automatically.
This usually takes less than a minute.
To make sure all visitors are redirected to the secure (HTTPS) version of your site:
In Websites & Domains, click Hosting Settings.
Scroll down to Security.
Check:
SSL/TLS support
Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS
Click OK to save.
That’s it! Your website now uses a free SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt. It will auto-renew every 90 days, so you don’t need to do anything in the future.
